Once a region has been officially declared a "disaster area" by government authorities, property owners have access to increased resources, including public services to protect and remediate the area. In addition, you may have access to financial assistance. Your insurance company will have additional information on this or you can contact FEMA directly.
Some people are hesitant to hire professional water restoration service and mold remediation specialist thinking that they can save money doing it on their own. The truth is, professional restoration companies offer a better value for the money as opposed to doing the job by yourself.  Most importantly they are equipped with the right tools and equipment to make your home safe from mold! Our IICRC certified technicians will thoroughly inspect your home or building. If mold damage is present, our IICRC certified mold technician will work closely with you, and Certified Indoor Air Quality professional to develop an immediate and efficient plan of action to remove the mold and detect the moisture causing it. Once Rytech’s work is complete, our technician will work with an independent third party Indoor Air Quality professional to ensure that your home or building has been successfully remediated. Once your home has passed clearance testing you will be provided a copy of the test results for your records.
The flood swamped Opry Mills with up to 10 feet of murky water, closing the 1.2 million-square-foot mall for nearly two years. Before the flood, the mall averaged $279 million in annual sales and employed roughly 3,000 people. An estimated $200 million in repairs were made before the mall reopened in March 2012. At the nearby Opryland Resort & Convention Center, the hotel evacuated 1,500 guests to a local high school as the Cumberland River swelled in May 2010. It was closed for about seven months for renovations.
If the flood was serious enough for you to leave your home, be sure you stay safe upon your return. The Federal Emergency Management Agency warns that you should check for any visible structural damage, such as warping, loosened or cracked foundation elements, cracks, and holes before entering the home and contact utility companies if you suspect damage to water, gas, electric, and sewer lines.

The town of Nashville was founded by James Robertson, John Donelson, and a party of Overmountain Men in 1779. It was named for Francis Nash, the American Revolutionary War hero. Nashville quickly grew because of its strategic location, accessibility as a port on the Cumberland River and its later status as a major railroad center. By 1800, the city had 345 residents. In 1806, Nashville was incorporated as a city and became the county seat of the county. In 1843, the city was named the permanent capital of the state of Tennessee.
